Our worship services follow the church year and we use a lectionary
(assigned scripture lessons for each Sunday). We are a liturgical
church and we use liturgies in worship for the different seasons
of the church year and general liturgies. Our Moravian Book
of Worship contains our liturgies and our hymns.
These aspects of worship ground us in the life and traditions
of the larger Christian Church and they open us to new experiences
in worship every Sunday. The primary musical instrument for our
worship services is a pipe organ, but it is augmented with brass,
bells and other instruments which add variety and beauty to our
services.
8:45 and 11:00 am morning worship on Sundays at Home Moravian.
The two morning worship services on Sundays are
similar in most aspects with the 8:45 service being slightly shorter
in length. Both times of worship will include a liturgy, congregational
hymns, scripture readings for the day, and a sermon. The two sacraments
of Baptism and Holy Communion are observed during these services.
Special occasions will be celebrated with a lovefeast service at
the 11:00 o’clock hour. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged
to attend any of our worship services. The 11:00 service is broadcast
on radio station WTOB 1380 AM each Sunday morning.
9:45 Sunday School
Our educational program is for all ages and we
have classes for children in our nursery through the oldest of
adults. These classes meet on Sunday mornings and everyone is invited
to come and join us for this life long adventure in learning. For

Wednesday Night Fellowship Suppers and
Programs
During the fall, winter and spring we have fellowship
suppers and programs for all ages on Wednesday nights. The fellowship
suppers are a time for families and everyone to come together for
good food and fellowship. The meals are catered by California Fresh
Buffet and then program options are offered for all ages. For

Travel through the intersection with US 52 North/South. Exit off
of Business 40 at the Main Street exit. On Main Street turn left
at the intersection of First Street (less than one half block off
the exit ramp). At the first intersection turn left on Liberty
Street. At the third traffic signal turn left on Academy Street
and go until the street dead ends into Church Street. Turn left
onto Church Street and the Church is on your right.
Travel Business 40 eastbound pass the exits for Peters Creek
Parkway and Broad Street. Take the next exit Marshall/Cherry
streets. At the traffic light turn right on Marshall Street heading
south. At the first traffic light turn left on Academy Street
go through the next traffic light until the street dead ends
into Church Street. Turn left onto Church Street and the Church
is on your right.
