Home Church Day at Laurel Ridge - June 1, 2008

          As always, Home Church Day at Laurel Ridge is a wonderful day of worship and fellowship at our delightful

     home away from home, Laurel Ridge!  While the distant rumbling of thunder moved our worship inside, we had

     a beautifully lush, just-the-right temperature day to experience the spell cast by this "mountain place set apart". 

          Our youth led us in a worship experience where they shared

     the ways they have experienced God in their lives and then

     invited everyone to spend some moments sharing their own

     experiences of God with the others gathered around their tables. 

     As worship ended, everyone was invited to gather round the

     table (actually three tables, heavy laden with goodies) for the

     meal. 

         The afternoon brought several hours of fun exploring the

     mountain, whether by nature walk, a scavenger hunt tour for

     some of our soon-to-be summer campers, a leisurely stroll,

     a paddle around the lake, or a softball game. 

          We hope to see you next year, first Sunday of June (June 7, 2009), on the mountain to share in this special

     time of worship in a cathedral of God's own design!
