Sunday School in October

Classes for all ages, 11:15 to noon, following 10 a.m. worship and coffee fellowship.

Children and Youth, second floor Christian Education Building

Pre-K/K and 1st-4th grade Classes (Second Floor CE):

  • In Adventures with the Good Shepherd, participants enjoy exploring one Bible story over several weeks, using different creative styles or “intelligences” to delve into the story. Workshops last a week and include art, drama, games, music, and cooking. This year’s stories include the following:
  • Daniel in the Lions’ Den, Elijah, Isaiah, Calling the Disciples, The Ten Lepers, The Triumphal Entry, The Road to Emmaus, Psalms and Songs, and Friendship

5th-7th grade Class (CE 301)

  • In Submerge Yourself in the Bible, participants relate the Bible to their own experiences and play reinforcing games.

8th-9th grade class (CE 303)

  • Confirmation: The Journey of Confirming Your Faith
  • Participants work with leaders to explore Moravian traditions, Christian traditions, and their own faith journey

10th-12th grade class (CE 303)

  • Continuing the Confirmation Conversation
  • Participants discuss confirmation topics from the point of view of their church membership

Adult Sunday School

  • Bible Discussion: Exploring the Book of Exodus, Club Room
  • Scripture Encore: Digging Deeper into the church service’s scripture passages, CE 101
  • Faith Journeys: Hearing others’ faith journeys and recording one’s own story, CE 208
  • The Non-Sunday School: Books are available on the Coffee Fellowship table to take and read. This fall’s offerings: My One Word by Ashcraft/Olsen and Sustainable Youth Ministry by Mark DeVries
