Home Moravian Church is presenting a new and unique opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument and be taught by professional musicians here at the Church. The classes are free and will have low teacher-to-student ratios. Classes are open to all ages.
High brass instruments (Trumpets, Cornets, Altos), low brass instruments (Trombones , Baritones, Euphoniums, and Basses), and woodwinds (Flutes and Clarinets) will be taught in separate classes by separate instructors on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm on February 10, 17, and March 3, 10, 17, and 24, 2019.
Attendance at all sessions is optional, and if you don't know how to read music, we'll teach you. The classes will last about an hour. The first time you can come, please report to the Choir Rehearsal Room in the basement of the Rondthaler Memorial Building. The current Tuesday evening classes for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students will continue as they are with the same instructors and will not be impacted by these new Sunday afternoon classes.
For further questions and information, please contact Home Church Band Ministry Team menbers Art Sorensen (336-407-2192), Nola Knouse (336-725-0651), or Lester Morris (336-766-4851). To participate, please call the Home Moravian church office at 336-722-6171 and name the instrument you want to play. Home Church has some instruments available for use.
Please give prayerful consideration to this opportunity to learn the joy and fun of instrumental music and also to minister to others by playing in the Moravian Band. The Moravian Band is the only known church band that regularly plays in worship services.
