Update: Men of the Church
Candlemakers (under the leadership of I.B. Southerland) produced and sold a (recent) record number of candles. The net proceeds are being donated to the following local charities:
- SECU Family House
- Sunnyside Ministry
- Shepard’s Center
- Second Harvest Food Bank
- Laurel Ridge
- Wachovia Garden
- Crossnore School
- H.O.P.E.
You can help make candles to sell this year! We have had a great turnout at our candle-making sessions. They take place in the candle making room on the 1st Thursday of the month from 8am-1pm.
There are several jobs to choose from: Candle Stringing, Candle Finishing, and making boxes.
It is a nice time for fellowship with fellow men of the church. You are invited to come for the whole time of just a few hours if that is what you have to spare.
MOC Leadership
Gary Hauser has volunteered to serve as Vice Chair with John Elster continuing to serve as the Chairman. (Gary will assume the role of Chairman on 1/1/25). David Peddycord will continue to serve as Treasurer and Ray Gatland as Retreat Coordinator.
Would you like to become a leader of the Men of the Church? Please contact Gary or John and they would be happy to discuss this opportunity with you.
