Please read the main Candle Tea Reservations page and this page carefully before making your reservation(s).
Special abbreviated versions of the Candle Tea are held for school groups (public, private and home-schooled) and Scout groups in the historic Single Brothers House in Old Salem.*
Candle Tea for school and scout groups includes a candle-making demonstration and a visit to the historic kitchen, where guests will hear about the early Moravians' daily activities, and how the young people in Salem were educated and the older boys learned a trade.
Each guest is served a Moravian sugar cookie (gluten-free available) and receives a trimmed lovefeast candle. Each Scout receives a Candle Tea patch. The tour concludes with a viewing of the putz (an intricate, miniature Salem scene) and the Nativity. Tour totals about 1 hr. 15 min.
Admission is $2.50 per person, including small children. Non-refundable payment is required to complete your reservation(s).
Advance reservations are available for groups of up to 26 persons, every 15 minutes. Group size is strictly limited by Fire Code.
