Home Church Day at Laurel Ridge

Come for worship, fellowship, fishing

Sunday is Laurel Ridge Day!

Sunday, May 5, 2024     11:00 am – 4:30 pm

Join us for Home Church Day at Laurel Ridge, Sunday, May 5th, for a day of fun, fellowship, and worship on the mountain. 

 

  • Arrive between 11:00 am - 1:00pm – you can bring your fishing gear and go fishing, hike, play games, or join in these activities (there will be a couple of golf carts to help people get between activities)
  • 11:00- Hymn Sing with Brad Bennett and Dana Myers in the Picnic Shelter
  • 12:00- Art activity with Lynn Waggoner in the dining hall.  
  • 1:00 Potluck lunch!  There will be folks available to help you get your dish to the dining hall, and we can use the refrigerator and stoves if things need to be kept cool or warm.

After lunch

  • 1:30 – 3:00- take a hike, take boats out on the lake, play games, do a nature walk with Cody Davidson, make a paper star with Elizabeth Robinette, or just enjoy the chance to be together in this special place until our worship service.
  • 3:00- Worship service at the lake with Rick Sides – BRING CHAIRS or a blanket to sit at the lake!  We’ll take a “love offering” at worship to donate towards care of the Pines Lodge & Cottages at camp.
  • After worship- Ice Cream Social

You can use the address- Southerland Drive, Laurel Springs, NC, for the address on your GPS.  The Laurel Ridge address of Pendry Drive takes you to Higgins Lodge and Conference Center instead of camp!

 

Directions from W-S: Take 421 N to exit 282 – toward N. Wilkesboro. Turn right onto 2nd St (NC-18).  Keep left at the fork to follow NC-18N which becomes Sparta Rd.  for 18 miles.  Turn left on Darnell Woodie Rd.  After about a mile and a half, turn right on Southerland Dr.  There is a sign for camp.
