As COVID abated, members of Senior Friends saw that many older members had learned to use Zoom.
At the same time, we saw that when HMC members are no longer able to get out into the world, they lose touch with the Church almost completely, just when they needed the Church most, during their last earthly years.
So we decided to use Zoom to help these members continue to participate in Church life!
Last August, with the permission of the Board of Elders, we began a ministry which we call Mutual Ministry, "Mutual" because in these gatherings we minister to each other by becoming good listeners for each other. We meet every Monday morning at 10 am on Zoom, for fellowship, offering intercessory prayer for members of the congregation and each other as needed, and for a brief time of devotions.
We are grateful to several fellow Senior Friends who support this ministry by meeting with us. Our Zoom manager hosted Mutual Ministry meetings from Boston, New York City, and central Pennsylvania when he needed to travel to those places last October.
We are glad to see each others' faces every Monday morning, ready to share what's going on with us, ready to experience God's presence as we offer up prayer for those who need it, and ready to hear a brief devotions.
Do you know someone who could benefit from this ministry, especially if they can no longer get out, or cannot get out regularly? Please tell them of this opportunity. Please let us know, too.
