Fulfilling Christ's call to love God, live in community, and serve our neighbor

Moravian Ministry Voyage

Provincial information fair, with a musical

Saturday Sept. 15 from 12:30-4:00 p.m. at Advent Moravian Church, provincial agencies will gather in an information fair culminated by a full production of Irene: the Adventure Begins!

This event will be for all ages as we trace our roots back to the beginnings of Moravian missions. The ministry fair will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The play will be at 2:00 p.m.

John Leonard Dober and David Nitschman are names you may not readily recognize. Dober was a potter and David a carpenter. These were ordinary occupations for two extraordinary men whose adventure shaped the Moravian Church as it is today.

In 1732, they left the security of their jobs and families and became the first Moravian missionaries. It was not an easy task but they answered the call to “come and minister the gospel to us.” Their purpose in life was to follow the Lamb who had given His life for them and for all the souls of the world.

This year the Moravian Church Southern Province is celebrating this historic event by hosting a modern Moravian Ministry Voyage.
